Our Story

Brent Randall Regnart grew up in Fresno, California, and moved north to Stockton in 1976 to attend Christian Life College, earning a BA in Theology in 1980. In college, he met and married Rachel Thompson of Lamont, California.

Following graduation, he eventually joined the staff of KYCC Radio in 1985, working full-time as Program Director until 2005. He returned to that position in 2014. In 2020 he began to host the Morning Show, and in 2022, he was promoted to General Manager.

He started the radio show Kids & Company in 1987 and hosted it for the next thirty years, until May 2017.

He dropped his last name for the purposes of his radio work, as "Brent Randall" sounds better on the air.

In 1990, as a concerned parent, he volunteered to serve in his church's Children's Ministry, and has developed a strong passion for it in the years since. Over time he has served in the capacity of Children's Pastor for three Stockton churches: Christian Life Center (under the late Bishop Kenneth Haney and Pastor Nathaniel Haney), Lighthouse of the Valley (Pastor Michael Delgado) and Centro Vida (Pastor John Shivers).

He now frequently travels across the country training Sunday School teachers and children's leaders in an entertaining and engaging manner, and he has received wonderful feedback from his work.

In 2010 he published a book on storytelling entitled Whales, Rocks and Chickenfish available here.

Brent is a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International, is a member of the UPCI Children's Ministry Association, and now serves as Western District UPCI Children's Ministries Director. Furthermore, he has been endorsed by dozens of pastors and leaders over the years and has spoken at multiple conferences and seminars.

He and Rachel have four married children and eleven grandchildren.
